Quote: ...I promise weÆll start getting some info out tomorrow. As I see it, the chief complaint is regarding the high cost of goods in the Noble Market. Second, many people are unhappy about the CaptainÆs Quarters. Third, there are some performance issues with Incarna. I would appreciate it if you would confirm my observations or tell me what IÆm missing, but I do ask that you do it in a productive way. I will remove posts without prejudice if they are counterproductive to the conversation I hope to have with you.
Been ruminating about how to respond to your request for a parley. So here goes:
1) Captains quarters makes me fear for the life of my one laptop that can run EVE online. It was able to run 2 clients well, and 3 in a pinch, but if I turn on captains quarters, I can run a single client, and normally just undock in something with a cloak to prevent risk of fire. Turning off the special CQ effects leaves me staring at a door which currently goes nowhere. It's like you are trying to point out some sad allegory about my future with EVE Online. I don't get to see my current ship, and the inability to easily click on it directly to open the cargo bay/fuel bay/SMA/Drone bay is a bit off putting.
2) The complaint is not so much about the price of the items, which are silly by the way, but the feeling that CCP have decided to milk subscribers dry by pricing things so exorbitantly...perhaps in expectation of creating a gold ammo/ship store. The moment EVE goes to a pay-to-play model for items that are more than cosmetic is the day I cancel my subscription. Sadly the handling of this situation has caused a large number of my old friends in EVE to end theirs already. The fact that as a company CCP hasn't outlined a philosophy on the future of such transactions has me worried. We are only receiving comments about the past and present framework. Does the company have a vision for the development of this product? and if so what is it?
3) "I promise weÆll start getting some info out tomorrow." I know that RL & Family >>>>> EVE. I don't blame Pann for taking a break from thread management, no good person in this thread does, but the inability of any other members of CCP staff to step to fulfill her commitment during a reasonable family emergency to complete what I see as a company promise is very disconcerting. Is there only one semi-retired community manager capable of talking to the player base in all of Reykjavik, Atlanta, & Shanghai? Are the PR and Community teams truly paralyzed in her absence? Right now you are losing subscriptions and I am losing friends to play with and targets to shoot.
